In the beginning, QAF is really good, well-written and sexy. And by the end, when it's degenerated into utter crap and Brian asks Justin to marry him, because he's fucked all the hot men in Pittsburgh, and no one really wants him anymore, except for Justin, I can't look away because by then I'm emotionally invested in these people. I want to see them be happy. Even to the bitter, badly-written end.
*sigh*
I'm not the only one right? |

| Brian/Michael shippers |
[Jan. 30th, 2006|07:32 pm] |
The thing is, Brian/Michael shippers are like Harry/Hermione shippers. What they fail to realize is that the two characters already have a great relationship, and don't need nor want to screw it up with sex.
Brian's a selfish prick, and takes many things in his life for granted. Except Mike. They accept each other, no apologies, no regrets. They support each other in hard times. But by no means is that a basis for a good romantic relationship. In fact, it's probably better for Michael that they never fuck. Getting involved with Brian leads everyone down a spiral of heartache and headache. Just look at Justin. He fell in love and look where it got him. A gimp hand, and an affair. |

| In response to Shawn Postoff, QAF writer |
[Aug. 18th, 2005|02:24 am] |
Recently, as many of you probably know, Shawn Postoff, one of the writers of Queer As Folk, wrote a letter to a fan explaining his take on why the show ended the way it did. I first found this post on the Showtime message boards, and I posted this in response.
(Mr. Postoff gave permission for his letter to be reproduced in message boards, blogs, journals, etc., so no copyright infringment is intended!)
Dear Mr. Postoff |

| How B/J's relationship parallels B/M's in 507 |
[Jun. 22nd, 2005|06:42 am] |
This is my first try writing an essay, just so you know ^_^
I just got done watching the previews on www.sho.com for episode 507, and noticed something that might be interesting. About how Justin and Brian's current relationship parallels Brian and Michael's friendship a while back. [Since I have yet to see the episode, there are no spoilers past that scene. It's best if you watch the clip on Showtime before reading this so you know what I'm talking about :D]
( spoilers for 507 ) |

B-A! B-Y! M-A! M-A!: QAF Recap Ep 503 05-29-05
After much sarcasm that would have got me popped in the mouth a couple of times, Michael finally tells Deb that he heard about the conversation Deb and Melanie had, and apparently Deb was on Mel’s side. Deb reiterates that the only side she’s on is Jenny Rebecca’s, and really, what kind of side is that? Either you believe the baby belongs with a single lesbian mother, or you believe she’s better off with two gay fathers. Jenny Rebecca’s side (and God I hate that name) is the one where she’ll be changed regularly, fed, bathed, and loved, and she’ll get that regardless. It’s like if someone asks you if you side with the White Sox, or the Cubs, and you say, “The only side I take is the vendor’s! I’m on the vendor’s side!” So in summation, Shut Up Deb!
